It has been brought to our attention by the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Cell that some care homes are struggling with visitors and professionals not wearing face masks.
Most COVID outbreaks are being brought into homes by visitors, so its important managers discuss this at any resident and relative meetings and display relevant guidance prominently on all notice boards within the home.
HCPA have created a poster which you can display within your organisation. Click here to download it.
Additionally, the IPC Cell advise that all visitors are reminded that they must wear masks when in any communal areas and with their relatives in individual rooms to ensure the risk of transfer is minimised.
