A new Prevent referral form alongside a 7-point briefing has been released by the HSCP to help articulate a concern under prevent – ‘where you are worried a person is susceptible to radicalisation’.
Please note that there are three key changes in the new Prevent NRF:
- The new form encourages the person submitting the referral to provide as much information as possible about their concern to ensure that specialist officers can make an effective assessment of the Prevent risk and improve data recording.
- The questions and terminology have been updated to reflect an updated understanding of susceptibility to radicalisation and to encourage the referrer to consider behaviours and circumstances which could form part of the concern.
- Accessibility has been improved and the form is now easier to read.
