We have been asked to relay the following information regarding the new adult safeguarding referral portal that Hertfordshire County Council’s Adult Care Services are launching from the 1st February 2020.

The new portal has been piloted over the last 5 months with a number of local provider services and district councils. It has been found to be simple and intuitive to use, and pilot participants have reported that it saves them time as it leads to fewer follow-up contacts being needed to clarify referral information.

Importantly, use of the portal means adult safeguarding referrals can be made in a more secure, efficient and comprehensive way and, of course, this will help the Adult Care Services provide the best possible safeguarding service for residents of Hertfordshire.

Registering to use the portal is quick and simple. The following link will take you to the registration page, as well as to further information, Frequently Asked Questions and helpful YouTube videos that show the portal in use: hcsportal.hertfordshire.gov.uk

Launch of the portal is in two stages. Your organisation is part of ‘stage one’, which includes all provider services and district councils. This means that we’d like you to start using the portal by 1st February 2020.

If you have any queries or comments about the portal, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing ACS.DigitalTechnology@hertfordshire.gov.uk.

Adult Care Services will leave the email open to you for a short time while they ensure the service works easily for everyone. However, by 1st March 2020, the adult safeguarding referral portal will become the standard route for safeguarding referrals to Adult Care Services.
