This course for managers, team leaders, and professionals responsible for overseeing safeguarding practices within their organisations, provides a comprehensive understanding of the key responsibilities of safeguarding for managers in protecting adults at risk of abuse or neglect. Participants will explore the impact of current legislation, learn how to respond effectively to suspected or alleged abuse, and develop skills for collaborative working across agencies. The course also emphasises the importance of supporting colleagues in safeguarding processes, ensuring a proactive and informed approach to protecting vulnerable adults.
Key topics covered include:
• Understanding relevant legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act
• Embracing positive risk-taking while effectively identifying, assessing, and managing risk
• Clarifying safeguarding duties for Local Authorities
• Responding appropriately to allegations, concerns, and disclosures
• Best practices for information sharing and collaborative working
• Applying insights from Safeguarding Adults Reviews and reflective practice
