This session, delivered by the H&WE ICS Care Home Pharmacy team focuses on the challenges residents and care staff face when managing medication at the end of a residents life. This session also looks at situations where covert administration of medication is required.
Looking at the legal implications of covert administration of medication and how to ensure the required documentation meets the legal requirements with practical steps on how to do this safely. We will have case studies which we will work through together.
While some of the information presented may be relevant to domiciliary care providers, the session content is primarily intended for CQC-registered care homes.
