Who should attend the Level 5 Safeguarding Adults for Managers Course?
This course is suitable for leaders and managers working in adult social care settings. Attendees on the course should already have a working knowledge of safeguarding and should have leadership responsibility in their workplace. This course is mapped to the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, Making Safeguarding Personal (ADASS) and Care Act Statutory Guidance.

Attendees will receive: Handouts Practice Tools and Resources Safeguarding Adults Trained Leader Badge Safeguarding Adults Board Forum – This is a private group hosted by 1Stop, where leaders of different services nationwide come together to talk all things safeguarding, share best practice and ask questions.

Course Learning Outcomes:
– Identify the laws, policies and guidelines that provide the framework for safeguarding
– Describe how legal literacy underpins good practice in safeguarding activity
– Explain how to embed professional curiosity within safeguarding practice Identify risk factors that contribute to a ‘closed culture’
– Describe how Making Safeguarding Personal drives safeguarding activity
– Analyse the challenges of positive risk-taking, including new and accumulating risk Identify the key components of defensible decision-making
– Describe how to develop a confident and competent staff team to support consistent good practice in safeguarding.
– Explain the difference between ‘considering’ and ‘suspecting’ abuse according to the NICE guidelines
– Explain how to escalate and address complex cases, harnessing the assets of safeguarding partners
– Describe the stages and process of enquiry
