For managers new in post as a route towards the Skills for Care Manager Induction Standards
The Level 4 Certificate in Principles of Leadership & Management for Adult Care qualification introduces learners to adult care leadership and management, preparing learners to progress into further/higher level training such as the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care.
The qualification covers the essential knowledge required in adult care and support, as well as management, and aligns with the Management Induction Standards, providing the knowledge and understanding to be able to move into a management role.
Career progression is a key element in retaining and growing a high-quality workforce for the adult care sector. Progression into management roles is particularly important and workers with excellent care and support skills at level 3 may be unprepared for the very different knowledge and skills required as a manager. Therefore, this qualification has been developed as a direct route from the level 3 into level 5 management qualifications.

What are the entry requirements?
Learners must be at least 18 years old
Learners should have significant experience within the adult care sector to achieve a firm grounding in service delivery for the sector.
Learners should have a strong understanding of the English language

How many credits are required to complete it?
Learners must achieve all 34 credits to gain this qualification.

How is it assessed?
This qualification is assessed by an Assessor using a portfolio of evidence.

How long will it take to complete this qualification?
Learners can usually complete the qualification within 6-9 months.

What progression opportunities are there?
Learners can progress in their career and undertake the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care.
