This course is designed to provide a deep understanding of the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) definition of Dual Diagnosis, equipping participants with the knowledge to identify, address, and support individuals dealing with substance misuse issues.
By attending this session, participants will:
Understand the NICE definition of Dual Diagnosis and its implications.
Identify commonly misused substances and associated paraphernalia prevalent in Hertfordshire, including their short and long-term effects on individuals.
Learn how to recognise the signs of substance misuse, enabling early intervention and support.
Explore various barriers to accessing support for individuals struggling with substance misuse.
Develop effective communication strategies for sharing concerns with individuals and encouraging them to seek help.
Acquire tips for collaborative working with other professionals and organisations to provide holistic support.
Gain an understanding of harm reduction strategies and their importance in addressing substance misuse.
Be familiar with relevant agencies and resources available for referral and support in Hertfordshire.
