Basic Life Support with Approved Training Provider Study Room Training

Half day course at Study Room Training, Weltech Business Centre, Ridgeway, Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL7 2AA
£55per person (£20pp can be claimed back from the Hertfordshire Mandatory Training Grant via HCPA – funds permitting)

This course is a good refresher of Basic Life Support. Delegates will get to use a Defibrillator, Manikin to do CPR on and practice using a Choking vest. Delegates will also be taught how to recognise the signs of a stroke and a heart attack.

Learning objectives:
Delegates will at the end of the session be able to more confidently use CPR, they will know how many breaths to compressions and they will know what the reason is as to why we need to do chest compressions correctly.
Delegates will know how to recognise the signs of someone choking, how many back slaps and how many abdominal thrusts should be given.
Delegates will be able to show how to put on a defibrillator on, listen to instructions and know when to give the shock.
This is a hands on session and supported by a quiz at the end of the session to measure the understanding of the topics presented to the delegates.
Staff will be able to show through practice they have learnt the skill to carry out CPR and to use a defibrillator effectively.
Staff will be able to identify a person having a heart attack or stroke, know how to deal with a person choking and understand a variety of first aid practice.
This course will help develop skills and give staff more confidence and knowledge in Basic Life Support.
