Moving and Positioning of People with Approved Training Provider Study Room Training

Half day course at Study Room Training, Weltech Business Centre, Ridgeway, Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL7 2AA
£65 per person (£20pp can be claimed back from the Hertfordshire Mandatory Training Grant via HCPA – funds permitting)

This course would be good for a refresher to staff who have previously had Moving and Positioning of people training.

This is a face to face session in small groups of five. Theory, Legislation, Risk Assessing, Anatomy of the spine, Pressure sores and awareness, Slide Sheets, Repositioning people in bed, hoisting, walking aids and stand aids.

Learning objectives:
Staff will be able to explain the purpose of legislation, show through practice that they know how to safely move and position someone.
They will be able to identify areas of pressure on the persons body and explain the importance of reporting and recording concerns with the skin.
Staff will have knowledge of their spine and why its important to take care of themselves and how to do it.
Overall staff will become exposed to correct practice and old techniques will be replaced with safer new ways of moving people.
