For Care professionals to develop once completing the Care Certificate.

The Level 2 Diploma in Care qualification supports learners to develop the knowledge and skills required to work in a range of adult care environments.

The qualification is formed of mandatory units covering core competencies, and optional units allowing learners to tailor their qualification to reflect the context of their work.
It covers a wide range of areas including dementia awareness, mental health and well-being, supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and healthcare procedures.

What are the entry requirements?
Learners should be working in an adult care setting to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills
Learners should have completed the Care Certificate
Learners should have a good understanding of the English language

How many credits are required to complete it?
Learners must achieve a minimum of 46 credits to gain this qualification, 24 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 22 credits from the optional units

How is it assessed?
All units are assessed by an Assessor using a portfolio of evidence.

How long will it take to complete this qualification?
Learners can usually complete the qualification within 6-9 months.

What progression opportunities are there?
Upon completion, learners could progress their career into a more senior role or take on higher responsibilities.
Learners could progress and undertake the Level 3 Diploma in Adults Care
