One day course at HCPA Campus
This course provides delegates with the fundamental principles to promote a culture of safety.
Delegates will learn practices to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. They will learn identifying hazards, risk assessment, safety regulations, PPE and safe work practices enabling them to create a safe working environment by spotting potential dangers.

Learning objectives:
• Describe the laws and regulations that provide a framework for Health and Safety
• Identify commonly occurring hazards
• Identify the powers and enforcement of CQC/HSE/EHO
• Describe the duties of the employer and employee
• Explain the duty to report and respond to accidents
• Describe the role of risk assessment and the steps to drafting a risk assessment
• Explain COSHH compliance in practice
• Describe how and when to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Identify safe work procedures
• State relevant fire legislation
• Understand how a fire develops and behaves
• Recognise fire precautions and means of escape
• Respond appropriately to discovering a fire
• Demonstrate a knowledge of human behaviour in fires
