This course is designed for activities leads and coordinators committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents through personalised engagement and effective goal setting.
Participants will learn how to set and document SMART goals tailored to individual residents, understand the significance of exploring life stories, and develop strategies for engaging residents with varying levels of dementia.
Learning objectives:
• Understand roles and responsibilities when providing engagement support.
• Learn techniques for assessing resident needs and setting personalised goals.
• Understand the importance of life stories involving families and friends in resident care.
• Understand the principles and importance of SMART goal setting in a care setting.
• Gain skills in documenting and updating goals in care plans.
• Learn best practices for recording activities and ensuring access to records for all staff.
