This course equips learners with the essential skills and knowledge to successfully implement a Data and Digital Champion role within their organization. You will learn to manage data lawfully, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, while promoting and supporting best practices in the use of digital technologies. Learners will also develop the ability to empower colleagues through peer-to-peer support, helping others to effectively utilize digital tools and enhancing confidence and understanding within the workplace.
Additionally, you will learn strategies to encourage service users to adopt digital solutions, boosting their digital literacy. To earn certification, learners must attend all four sessions and complete workplace assignments, as outlined during the course. Ongoing support will be provided after the course to ensure successful implementation and continued development.
Entry requirements:

Expectations of being a Champion are as follows:
• Share knowledge to staff through team meetings, mentoring and coaching
• Gain topic specific knowledge
• Keep up to date with resources and support via the HCPA Members Zone
• Take responsibility to champion the topic area to ensure the care provider meets best practice standards
• Build strong relationships with professionals
• Support “Better outcomes for the individuals you support” for topic area
• Review Governance of the topic including reviewing and update policies and procedures to meet standards
• Attend yearly CPD and complete reflective accounts to enable revalidation
Selecting your Champion
To help you select your chosen Champion, they will need to:
1. Be a member of staff with authority to mentor staff and work with external partners
2. Have enthusiasm and dedication to promote best practice in the organisation and action change
3. Be committed to multi-disciplinary working, both internally and externally
4. Have confidence and strong communication skills to share information with staff teams via team meetings
5. Have the ability to critically review current governance processes for the topic area

• Comprehend Data Security Law: Grasp relevant data security laws to ensure organisational compliance.
• Meet Compliance Requirements: Identify steps to achieve data security and digital compliance.
• Apply Person-Centred Digital Care: Use digital tools to enhance person-centred care and support.
• Support Digital Advancement: Assist in the adoption of digital technologies within your organisation.
• Promote Data Security and Digital Practices: Lead efforts to improve data security and digital adoption in the workplace.
