This course provides the knowledge and understanding required to enable individuals living with dementia to experience well-being. Delegates will be able to develop their knowledge of person-centred approaches to dementia care and support.
Learning objectives:
• Define dementia.
• Recognise the impact of delirium, depression, and social stressors
• Understand the importance of early diagnosis and how a person-centred approach can be implemented, including the use of advance planning and life story work
• Explain how to support an individual in maintaining health and wellbeing
• Recognise the role of family and carers in supporting the health and well-being of people living with dementia
Delegates are expected to be engaged in learning, participate in all activities including group discussions, and share their own experiences, whilst respecting confidentiality.
