Let us know what exercise your service provides
HCPA and the local CCG’s are reviewing what exercise is currently being offered within Care Services across Hertfordshire, so that
we can review gaps and support an increase in exercise provision.
Exercise is extremely important for individuals at all levels of risk so they can improve their strength, mobility or balance to support them with completing daily tasks and reduce their risk of falls. Falls can lead to serious issues, and sometimes long-term issues that require increased social and health care needs of a person for the rest of their life. 33% of people aged 65+ fall each year. 87% of fractures among the elderly are due to falls.

“There was a moment in time when a resident was not even weight bearing and had isolated themselves in their room. The resident moved to a walker but after the chair-based exercise classes they are walking freely with no aid and even enjoying the home’s garden every day, as well as taking part in the church services and joining the mini bus on trips out. This presents a clear improvement in well-being, physical health and confidence –in just 13 weeks!”
Please support us in capturing as much detail as possible so we can enhance future service development; complete the survey by clicking here.
The deadline for completion is 30th September 2019. If you have any questions about this or you are interested in how you can offer more exercise for the people you support, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing peterbullen@hcpa.info or by calling 01707 536020 and ask to speak to Peter.

“The falls training you provided last month has had a positive impact on my home. Staff are more aware and knowledgeable and are been pre-emptive in managing falls. They have been sharing their knowledge with anyone who would listen.
My data shows a reduction in falls for the last 2 weeks. My staff are excited and motivated about new training opportunities. Following the 1 day course two of my staff have been selected and booked to be Champions” – Home Manager
