HCPA launch new StopFalls campaign
HCPA have recently launched a new StopFalls campaign, fully funded by HCC, with the aim of reducing falls across the county.
Over the last 20 years there has been an increase in the number of falls experienced by those aged 65 or over. Falls can lead to serious, and sometimes long-term, issues that require increased social and health care needs for a person for the rest of their life.
To tackle this, the StopFalls campaign promotes exercise and other preventative techniques that can be implemented to improve the strength and balance of those at higher risk of falls, along with falls education to improve knowledge for care providers.
The campaign is based on a wide-range of useful resources, guidelines, toolkits, education programmes, events and various other initiatives that will run from now until March 2019.
StopFalls is tailored to all types of care provider and we encourage all care providers to learn more and take part. Visit our dedicated StopFalls webpage for more information.
