Colleagues at HCC have asked us to let you know that there is a deadline that if a home wants to send a visitor appeal, please ensure these are received by 10am on Friday morning.

Hertfordshire Public Health have made a decision that if a home wishes to open up to visitors before the end of outbreak, they can only do this with the permission of the county council via the care home outbreak cell.

The key elements that the home must be able to demonstrate are:

  1. Completed both rounds of whole home PCR testing, which is 4-7 days apart and all results have come back negative
  2. level of vaccine coverage, including booster coverage in eligible residents (ideally above 90%)
  3. levels of participation in routine staff weekly testing (ideally above 75%)
  4. compliance with IPC measures
  5. Risk assessment by the home

All care homes need to complete the template which can be downloaded here and submit to assistance@hcpa.info
