Preparing for all scenarios
The Government and the European Union (EU) have now agreed the basis upon which the UK will leave the EU in March 2019. A ‘no deal’ exit is not the Government’s policy but they have a duty to prepare for all scenarios.
Over the last few weeks, the Government has published guidance detailing the actions the health and care system in England should take to prepare for a ‘no deal’ scenario. Accompanying the guidance is a cover letter, which provides additional updates about what you can and should do to prepare for a ‘no deal’ scenario. We encourage all providers to read these carefully to ensure you understand what you may need to do.
It is important to note that the EU Settlement Scheme opens once again for applications in March, 2019. Furthermore, HCPA are currently working with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) to devise a scheme that enables companies to claim back the £65 fee that EU employees must pay when they apply through the EU Settlement Scheme. Stay tuned to our next E-news release as more details are to follow which will inform you if we manage to put a scheme together..
