The government’s plan for removing the remaining legal restrictions while protecting people most vulnerable to COVID-19 has been published. The legal requirement for the public to self-isolate was removed on the 24th February 2022.
People with COVID-19 or with COVID-19 symptoms will still be asked not to go to care homes.
The guidance for adult social care staff has not changed but the Department of Health and Social Care will be publishing new, simpler guidance on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) in the coming weeks.
The government will continue providing resources and support for those working in adult social care, including encouragement of vaccine take-up, providing access to free PPE until the end of March 2023 and sharing updated IPC guidance.
