Communication from the Home Office

Update #1: The EUSS remains fully open for applications

The EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) has been fully open since 30 March 2019 and there have been over 2.2 million applications. EU citizens and their family members have until at least 31 December 2020 to apply.

Update #2: EUSS web shop is now open

Local authorities are now able to order EUSS communications materials, free of charge, which inform people about EUSS and support them in applying. Each local authority should only register one account.

To coordinate this, MHCLG will share registration details with Brexit Lead Officers early next week. To further promote this free service to relevant local authority colleagues, the Home Office will share information in an upcoming MHCLG Brexit Bulletin.

If you’re an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, you and your family members can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme free of charge. Applicants only need to prove their identity, demonstrate their UK residence, and declare any criminal convictions.

The iOS version of EU Exit: ID Document Check App is now available from the Apple app store and can be used on iPhone models 7 and above. The iOS app works in the same way as the Android app and can be used to verify your identity. For more information visit GOV.UK.

EUSS quarterly statistics release

Later this week, the Home Office will publish detailed statistics on applications made to the EUSS from 28 August 2018 to 30 September 2019, and applications concluded during the same time period. From Thursday, 7 November, please use the following link to access the statistics:
