NICE have updated their guideline on Stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA) in over 16’s and has a range of recommendations, including advice on using a validated tool such as FAST (Face Arm Speech Test) to screen people for a diagnosis of stroke or TIA. It also offers the best clinical advice on the diagnosis and acute management of stroke and TIA in the 48 hours after onset of symptoms.

Healthcare professionals in primary and secondary NHS healthcare settings Commissioners and providers of services including staff who work in care homes, home care and other social care settings to recognise the symptoms of a stroke – and to think FAST.
