Workforce Development Fund 2018/19: Deadline extension to submit claims and a new name for the National Minimum Data Set for Social Care
The National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC) is being renamed. A new and improved data set will be available soon called the
Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set
The new system will look and feel better as Skills for Care continues to collect vital information about our workforce. Users are expected to be moved across to the new system in April.
Skills for Care hope that the new system will be more user-friendly and make becoming eligible to claim the Skills for Care Workforce Development Funding for a wide range of adult social care qualifications easier; £690 – £1,200 is available for Diplomas and you can also claim for awards and certificates.
HCPA still have funding available for qualifications completed between the 1st January 2018 – 31st May 2019.
Please note that the deadline for claiming this year’s allocation of Workforce Development Funding for qualifications has been extended. The deadline for claiming funding this year is now 17th May.
Skills for Care are advising that Workforce Development Funding is likely to be available in 2019/20 but envisage a delay in funding from the Department of Health and Social Care due to current unprecedented operating environment.
QCF qualifications have gradually been replaced by RQF during 2018/19. QCF qualifications will be removed from the Skills for Care eligible qualifications funding list once this years’ funding finishes in May which means we would not be able to process claims for QCF after this funding year closes in May. If you are unsure whether your staff are working towards QCF qualifications or RQF then please contact your training provider to ask for clarification.
