There is an exciting opportunity to participate in the annual Age without Limits Day on the 11th of June 2025, with the theme “Celebrate Ageing. Challenge Ageism.” It is a day for us all to take action to end ageism – in our communities and in our workplaces. Together, we can make life better for those of us affected by ageism today and for all of us who may be affected in the future. There will be lots of opportunities to get involved and campaign packs to help communities mark the day, available from March 2025.
Micro-grants of up to £500 (plus £150 for accessibility costs) are available from the Centre for Ageing Better to help bring creative ideas to life. As an age friendly community, applications are open to community groups and local voluntary sector organisations based in Hertfordshire. To apply, please review the application form here and submit your ideas to grants@ageing-better.org.uk by 5 pm on 10th February 2025.
Anyone interested in applying or who has further questions is encouraged to attend one of the online information sessions hosted by Centre for Ageing Better:
- Thursday, 16th January, 2–3 pm
- Tuesday, 21st January, 12–1 pm
Whether you receive a grant or not, we invite you to have fun, get involved, and take part in tackling ageism, which benefits us all. You can choose to mark the day as you would like. It could be putting on art exhibitions, poetry competitions, fashion shows, film videos, events which bring generations together, sharing stories of ageing or creating opportunities to discuss ageism at a coffee morning or a pub quiz! The options are endless!
