This course equips participants with essential knowledge of the importance of maintaining proper nutrition and hydration, particularly in the care of vulnerable individuals. Through engaging discussions, group activities, and real-world scenarios, this course covers the risks of malnutrition and dehydration, effective assessment tools, and strategies to support individuals facing difficulties with eating and drinking. Ideal for both care professionals and healthcare professionals, this course fosters awareness of the crucial role of balanced diets and hydration in overall well-being.

Learning Outcomes
• Understand the importance of hydration and a balanced nutritional diet
• Identify signs and causes of dehydration and malnutrition
• Utilise assessment tools such as MUST and Waterlow scoring to assess nutritional risks
• Recognise strategies to support individuals with difficulties eating or drinking
• Understand the risks associated with poor nutrition and inadequate hydration
