2 hour course via Zoom
This course provides delegates with an understanding of depression and its causes. Delegates will develop an appreciation of what depression feels like and the symptoms that may be experienced, how it effects the person and those closest to them. Delegates will gain an understanding of ways in which depression can be managed and treated, especially through good practice in care. Learners will also be signposted to helpful places for any support that may be required.

Learning Outcomes
• Define the term ‘depression‘
• Outline the possible causes of depression
• Recognise how depression effects the individual, family and friends
• Explain how depression can be managed and know some of the resources available to support the individual experiencing depression
