Course description:
This is a cost-effective and quality-focused alternative to e-learning. This 3-hour session is suitable for front-line and senior staff working in social care settings.
This interactive session will offer a fully immersive learning experience that is enhanced by small group learning. All learners will have the opportunity to engage directly with the trainer, take part in interactive activities and share learning with others in focused discussions. Activities will include interactive whiteboards, polls, case studies, and chat activities.
Course Learning Outcomes:
– Describe how relevant legislation, principles, national policies and frameworks and local systems relate to safeguarding in practice.
– Define the 10 types of abuse and indicators for each type.
– List factors that may increase vulnerability to abuse.
– Explain the role of professional curiosity.
– Explain how making safeguarding personal is central to all safeguarding activity.
– Explain how to share information where concerns have been raised and the role of consent within this.
– Describe how to report abuse and respond to disclosure.
