New Leaf College is a new initiative in Hertfordshire that provides free courses to adults to enable them to take positive steps to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing.
One of their objectives is to engage people with long-term physical health needs and also their carers and relatives. They have a number of courses planned for the spring term, including ‘Living with a long-term physical health need’, which addresses the emotional impact of living with physical symptoms.
They also offer ‘Caring for someone with a long-term illness or disability’, which also takes into account the emotional effect of caring, how it can affect your relationship with the person you support, as well as an understanding of the various policies in place to support carers.
The courses are free of charge and available to anyone aged over 18 living in Hertfordshire. Courses are offered from various campuses across Hertfordshire and can be arranged to suit a range of accessibility needs.
