SCIE recently shared their November newsletter and mentioned a useful story for LGBTQI+ Disabled People regarding the benefits of using self-directed support, such as having more choice and control over their care. There are also challenges, for example, they fear coming out to personal assistants or support workers because their care might be jeopardised.
New resources from SCIE, the University of Bristol, Regard and Stonewall, highlight, for the first time, some of the issues faced by LGBTQI+ Disabled People in England. The resources include short films and briefings providing advice and information for LGBTQI+ Disabled People, as well as PAs and support workers.
